Sling a ling ling
Tacticool can really be a lot of BS. I sat there looking at that badass looking paracord sling and realized two things. One, I didn’t have any immediate plans to be more than 10 minutes away from an HEB so do I really need the survival benefits of paracord? Two, that G2 .308 with a 4-16X scope is dang heavy.
Would a traditional leather sling be a better option?
I opted for Levy’s Leathers SN27 Leather Cobra Rifle Sling (Walnut) from Amazon. I really liked the finish and craftsmanship from the very beginning. The screws to attach the QD swivels fit snug and with a little loctite were snugged up. All in all in worked really well but the length was a little snug when attached from the butt stock to about halfway down the handguard. Not unpleasant but there was no further adjustment left. Given the recent disagreements with my scale at home, this could eventually be a problem.
